This is week marks another Valentine's Day Celebration and since this is a BRAVE new year I want you to show your love in new and different ways, to new and different people. Of course you can share a dinner date, movie, or box of chocolates with your loved ones and they will appreciate it because it's from you. In the year of the BRAVE you have to go one step better. Give your loved ones a gift that speaks to their heart, that shows you not only care but that you get them, you know who they really are and you connect with their truest self. Just as you want to be appreciated and feel validated for who you are giving that same regard to others is greater than any gift you can buy. Some of the best gifts I've received over the years that spoke to my mind and my heart. One was my favorite necklace from Satya Jewelry as it bears symbols that represent peace and communication – now who don’t need to call more of that in their life! Satya Jewelry creates a range of pieces that are designed to inspire courage, adventure and spirituality. Another of my favorite gifts was a book my best friend gave me called The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman. The book and associated website is all about helping you understand the ways in which you experience love as well as understand how the expression of love is different for each person. I must tell you I have no direct relationship with Satya Jewelry or Gary Chapman I simply want to share with you examples of the most meaning heartfelt gives I’ve been given at Valentine’s Day and other holidays. The book The 5 Love Languages and website is a great tool to learn how to connect and show expressions of love and connection in any relationship. I often talk about expression love at work. At its core, love is about connection, communication, and compassion, and I'm sure you want these things even in your work relationships. So this Valentine's Day, think of ways in which you convey your love to others in a way that speaks to them. Share your gift of connection and compassion with a colleague or two too.
